Same-Day Care at Just White Dental

Emergency Dentist West RydeOur family dentist understands that a dental emergency can happen anytime, anywhere. Whether you’re an existing patient that we’ve known for years or are looking for a new family dentist, we’re available to provide attentive care to help you alleviate your discomfort as quickly as possible.

What are some of the most common dental emergencies that we see?

Each day, our office reserves special times that are set aside to accommodate same- day emergency dental visits. If you’re in pain, we recommend contacting us straightaway. Should you require immediate attention, we can take measures to relieve your discomfort and plan appropriate treatment.

What to do During a Dental Emergency

Knocked-Out Teeth — Store your tooth or broken fragment in a sealed container, completely submerged in contact solution, saline or milk. See our emergency dentist within the next hour. If it’s possible to reinsert your tooth back into the socket, do so gently and hold it in place. While it is safe to lightly rinse off the root, do not scrub it clean as this may prevent a successful reinsertion.

Swelling — Take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen. Rinsing with warm salt water can also alleviate symptoms. If swelling spreads into the face, head to the nearest emergency room.

Loose Filling or Crown — Avoid chewing on that side of your mouth to prevent the tooth from breaking. If the restoration lifts off of your tooth (do not force it) store it in a zip-top bag and bring it with you to your next appointment.
